Volunteer / Internship

Slide background

The American Irish Historical Society welcomes volunteers and interns from all walks of life. Past projects undertaken by interns and volunteers range from reshelving books, to giving tours, through to event planning and marketing. Both volunteering and serving as an intern are great ways of increasing your marketability to future employeers by acquiring valuable work experience. Volunteering and internships can be tailored around your existing work or school schedule. If you are interested in either volunteering or gaining school credit and experience through an internship, please fill out the form below.

Useful skills for potential volunteers and interns to possess include library and archival management, event planning, marketing and outreach, accounting and financial management, and general office experience. Basic computer skills and an ability to lift 50 lbs above your head may be required. An interest in Irish history is useful to have as well.
