The Society Tour

Join us for a trip through our Society Headquarters, described in the press as the “glittering jewel of the Irish in America.” As the Society and our historic Beaux-Arts townhouse share a linked history, our guided tour will begin by taking you back to the Gilded Age.
As guests walk through the five story townhouse, they will learn about its previous residents, as well as the history of the Irish in America and formation of the Society in 1897. Guests are able to view artwork from the Society’s collection, including works by George (A.E.) Russell and Nathaniel Hone the Younger. The hour long tour concludes with a look inside the Society’s new exhibit space, specially created to highlight the Society’s library and archive.

Groups larger than five are encouraged to book their tour ahead of time. Please contact library@aihs.org for more information.
