The Neil Shanahan Educators Seminar with Historian Christine Kinealy

The Neil Shanahan Educators Seminar will take place on Thursday, February 7, 2019.  The Irish American Heritage & Culture Committee, NYC Dept. of Education in collaboration with the American Irish Historical Society, is sponsoring this popular seminar. 

The seminar welcomes both non-educators as well as educators.  The seminar will be held at the American Irish Historical Society, 991 Fifth Ave., NYC starting at 6 P.M.  Registration begins at 5:30 P.M.  The topic is “Frederick Douglass and Ireland”Noted historian Christine Kinealy who has received accolades for her work on Ireland’s extraordinary famine and Director of Ireland’s Great Hunger Institute at Quinnipiac University, will examine Frederick Douglass’ remarkable time in Ireland.
