Randy Cohen “Person Place Thing” with Joseph O’Neill

December 8, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Society is pleased to welcome Randy Cohen and his acclaimed radio program, “Person, Place and Thing.” Before writing The New York Times Magazine‘s “The Ethicist,” Randy Cohen wrote humor pieces, essays, and stories for The New Yorker, Harpers, and The Atlantic Monthly. He has also won 5 Emmys for his television writing. His new book, Be Good: How to Navigate the Ethics of Everything, was published in 2013. In this lively program, recorded live before an audience, Cohen talks to guests about a person, a place, and a thing they find meaningful. The result: surprising stories from great talkers.
At the first of what will be an ongoing series of live broadcast recordings at the Society, Randy Cohen will be joined by author Joseph O’Neill. Perhaps best known for his novel Netherland, Joseph O’Neill was born in County Cork and has lived pretty much everywhere. He is the author of four novels, the most recent of which, The Dog, was long-listed for the Man Booker Prize.
Musical interludes will be provided by Eamon O’Leary of The Murphy Beds along with noted fiddle player, Stephanie Coleman.
Seating is limited and reservations are required.
