‘Frances Browne: In My Mind’s Eye’ in association with the Lyric Theatre, Belfast.

January 23, 2019 @ 7:00 pm

The American Irish Historical Society are delighted to once again host Origins 1st Irish Festival. Origin Theatre premieres a diverse range of contemporary European theatre in New York City. We’re devoted to discovering, nurturing, and introducing exciting, new voices from Europe, providing unique perspectives on national identity, cross-cultural relations, and global understanding.

Frances Browne: In My Mind’s Eye By Shirley-Anne Bonner is inspired by the life and work of Frances Browne (1816-1879), ‘the blind poetess of Ulster’. Best known for her book of fairytales, Granny’s Wonderful Chair, Browne was a prolific writer of short stories, poems, essays and novels.  This new play explores the trials, triumphs and true human cost of the alternative vision of the artist. This Reading is a Free Event, however RSVP is essential:
